I'm sure the mass majority of us will agree that we LOVE bacon. My husband will argue that its impossible to live without, so it goes without saying that we were both overwhelmed with excitement when I got the opportunity to be invited and try something most of us have yet to hear about; Skillet Bacon Spread!
Your probably wondering what it is exactly and you'd be right to know that it truly is QUICKLY growing into the next BIG thing as far as condiments are concerned.
What IS Skillet Bacon Spread?
Well, we take a big bunch of really, really good bacon and render it down…add a bunch of spices, onions, etc. and let it simmer for about 6 hours, give it a quick puree, blast chill it…take a left turn, and end up in pure bacon heaven. Our Skillet bacon spreads and pumpkin sauces do not require any refrigeration until they are opened. They are all shelf stable and each have a freshness date on the label that we recommend you use or freeze by.
My Review
My husband and I first decided to skip the creative aspect and go for adding some to our hamburgers, they were FULL of flavor from bacon and onions, all the seasoning came together in a perfect blend! It was sweet yet tangy just an all around perfect combination. We loved it and from that point forward we argued about who was going to cook and use it next. We truly couldn't find anything it didn't taste good with. In the morning my husband would spread a bit on his toast, for a late lunch I packed a baked potato and some skillet bacon spread. All of these were wonderful, but then one night, I came across a recipe on Skillet Bacon Spread's website; Skillet Bacon Chicken with Mushrooms. My husband decided he was going to cook dinner and made it. The first bite and it was heaven. I truly thought I was going to be out of the running for cooking. Of course I know it had EVERYTHING to do with the spread and not so much the "cook", but there was concern. I've already ordered more, this is by far the greatest spread & condiment we have ever had! It goes great with hotdogs, hamburgers, mixed in with fried rice, chicken, baked potato, and so much more! With Valentine's Day approaching quickly, thankfully they offer 1 day delivery, because there are just so many things to make with the Bacon Skillet Spread!
Where can I order my own Skillet Bacon Spread?

4 whole chicken legs
Pinch Kosher or Sea Salt
Pinch freshly ground pepper

8 ounces (226 g) medium-sized mushrooms, quartered
1/2 cup (120 ml) red wine
1/2 cup (120 ml) chicken stock or ¼ cup stock and ¼ cup cream

Instructions
In a large frying pan, heat oil and butter over medium high heat.Season chicken lightly with salt and pepper and add to pan. Brown well, about 10 minutes on each side. Reduce heat to medium, add rosemary and mushrooms. Stir occasionally to cook mushrooms evenly and continue to cook until chicken is cooked through, 10 to 15 minutes more.
Remove chicken and mushrooms to a side plate. Remove excess fat from pan and add wine and stock. Stir to release cooking juices and reduce to sauce consistency. Stir in Skillet Original Bacon Spread: heat through for a minute. Add cream, if using.
Taste and sharpen flavor with a dash of lemon juice. Return chicken and mushrooms to the pan: heat briefly, stirring to coat with the smoky onion sauce.
